The Xpats Gateway System was officially launched on 15 June 2023, in conjunction with the
Government’s initiatives towards digitalization and business-friendly environment to supports
Malaysia’s economic and investment goals. It is expected to shorten the working permit
applications. The Board of Architects Malaysia (the Board) is also involved as one of the
agencies.
Starting from 31 July 2023, the application of the expatriate workers for architectural and
interior design (for immigration requirement), will be fully implemented via a Single Window
Platform (SWP) known as Xpats Gateway System. As such, all applications for Expatriate
Workers by Architectural and Interior Design consultancy practices for the supporting letter
shall be made through the system.
